Festival Overview/History The Folsom Gourd & Arts Festival is a harvest tradition with a history of drawing thousands of art and music lovers for many years. The Festival began at Zittel Farm, in the middle of what later grew into the city of Folsom. As the years went by and the festival grew in popularity, the city grew up around the farm and necessitated the change of venue to Folsom City Park. In 2003, the Zittel family sought out a new home for the festival and an organization to manage it. Folsom Patrons of the Arts has produced the Gourd Festival since that time, continuing the tradition of showcasing gourds, gourd art, and gourd artists.
