Festival Overview/History
The Folsom Gourd & Arts Festival is a harvest tradition with a history of
drawing thousands of art and music lovers for many years. The Festival
began at Zittel Farm, in the middle of what later grew into the city of Folsom.
As the years went by and the festival grew in popularity, the city grew up
around the farm and necessitated the change of venue to Folsom City Park.
In 2003, the Zittel family sought out a new home for the festival and an
organization to manage it. Folsom Patrons of the Arts has produced the
Gourd Festival since that time, continuing the tradition of showcasing gourds,
gourd art, and gourd artists.

Festival Artist Testimonial
"I have had the most wonderful events happen
with my Poozles business - all as a result of being at the festival last year.
"A staff writer for Sacramento Magazine, attended last year's event and really
liked my handbags. --- She wrote a very nice half page article about
Poozles that was in the February issue of Sac Mag.
"A couple of days after that issue came out I was contacted by a reporter with
CW31's Good Day Sacramento asking if I would like to be on their show.... That
was so much fun.
"There were also several smaller events that came my way from people I met at
the Festival.
"I want to send you a great big THANK YOU for allowing me to be part of the 2006
Festival. I look forward to seeing you at this year's event."
